Fundraising Exhibition: Diary from the Dark, Diary of Hope by Aung Ko (Myanmar)

Aung Ko (Myanmar) is selected to attend an artist residency in France at MAC VAL from July to December 2021. Intersections and Chan+ Hori Contemporary have agreed to donate all the proceeds of the sales of the artworks from Diary from the Dark to contribute to this residency project. Diary from the Dark is a series of drawings inspired by journalistic pieces featured in international news magazine Newsweek and by his own travels around the world. Like many artists of his generation, Aung Ko is haunted by the memory of tragic event she has heard of or personally witnessed in his country. Aung Ko's travels made him realize that all the cuntris had gone through similar dark times. Although reflecting anguish, these drawings aim to tell us that mindful solution exist, which can make our world better, if only we want to apply them.
