Settling Sounds: Field Recording in Tiong Bahru with Huijun Lu
Join us for a workshop through Singapore’s beloved neighbourhood together with artist Huijun Lu as we tuned our senses to the living textures of Tiong Bahru. From the hum of the morning markets to its iconic art deco streets, this workshop invites participants to slow down, listen closely and discover the neighbourhood. Participants will start with a sharing on deep listening and the practice of field recording guided by Lu, followed by an independent walking activity to capture sounds of the Tiong Bahru before the closing session.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes, and are required to bring a recording device e.g. smartphone, sound recorder, etc).
The workshop is organised as part of the exhibition, The Places We Carry, in Sullivan+Strumpf Singapore, opening on 6 August 2026 through till 29 August.
Please RSVP at events@sullivanstrumpf.com.
