Sarah Choo Jing: Dancing Without Touching
SINGAPORE ART WEEK 2023 — Yeo Workshop spotlights Singaporean artist Sarah Choo Jing. Her solo exhibition presents an alternative perspective on movement and dance in the context of Singapore’s 20th century amusement parks. The works in this immersive exhibition are created through a process of performativity and chance, and feature performers who challenge traditional stereotypes associated with their historic characters. The exhibition explores themes of isolation and the social strangeness of increased distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting the characters and their range of movements that create an uneven rhythm.
GALLERY VISITOR REGISTRATION: As the exhibition space is very limited, we encourage guests to register at least 1 hour in advance to avoid disappointment during your visit. Kindly allow up to 45 minutes for the entire experience.
