The Lie of the Land
FOST Gallery is pleased to present The Lie of the Land, a group exhibition of six Singaporean artists, in conjunction with Singapore’s National Day.
To understand the features and characteristics of a place—or the current state of affairs—we often need to conduct investigations and surveys, both literal and metaphorical, leading to eventual assessments. The exhibition examines what makes up this country: its history, its people, its natural and constructed landscapes, its values, and its nuances. The title is also a double entendre—over time and through different lenses, perspectives on a place can blur or shift.
