Join us on 9 Jan Sunday, from 3.00PM to 5.00PM for an intimate session featuring two descendants of the Orang Pulau community, Asnida Daud and Firdaus Sani that explores the ‘Jiwa Laut’ (spirit of the sea) through personal anecdotes, beliefs, island traditions and poetry readings. The two-hour programme will shed light on two of Singapore’s Southern islands – Pulau Sudong, a once beautiful island that is now a fully-restricted military site, and Pulau Semakau, an ancestral land that has been reclaimed and turned into a landfill.
