Consolation and Constellation
Art Continuum is pleased to present “Consolation and Constellation”
By Steven Low and Gam Seongbin
Opening exhibition: 15 January 2025
Consolation and Constellation is an exhibition showcasing two talented sculptural artists from Singapore and Korea.
Steven Low, a ceramist from Singapore who recently participated in the WEDGE-17 Australia Ceramic Triennale Exhibition, 2025, specialises in conveying his inner thoughts through clay. His inspiration is drawn from the natural world.
Presenting his “Constellation” series, “The Life Stone,” this ceramic collection explores the interplay between structure and liveliness, blending the solidity of stone with the essence of life. The series features wall sculptures with intricate patterns and vibrant colours, created using the innovative Batik Obvara firing technique.
Gam Seongbin, an award-winning South Korean artist who received the Best Award at the National University Sculpture Competition, is renowned for his expressive, Cubist-inspired art. Gam’s “Consolation” explores grief and offers comfort by portraying a loved one in an abstract, geometric form. Initially a sculptor capturing human emotions, Gam has recently expanded into painting, highlighting grief as a key theme.
This exhibition showcases his paintings, customised frames, and sculptures.
