Moving beyond its association with hygiene and order, the exhibition positions CLEANSE as a form of labour, a ritual of care, and a mechanism through which bodies, spaces, and histories are regulated.

Developed as part of artist-curator Desmond Mah’s Asia Pacific Now 2026 series, the project unfolds in collaboration with Prestige Gallery and Adrian Tan’s research-driven curatorial approach, situating contemporary artistic practices within broader questions of discipline, visibility, and public life.

Through installation, performance, photography, and time-based media, the exhibition invites audiences to reconsider the infrastructures that sustain everyday life, often rendered invisible.
