Artist Profile
Andrea Danker (b. 1996, Malaysia) is a Singapore-based visual artist whose practice navigates states of transit and processes of mending to reimagine how identity is shaped across time and space. Working across painting, installation, and drawing, she uses storytelling to bridge personal experience with wider cultural and social histories. Her autobiographical works weave together oral traditions, collective memory, and cultural fragments to explore belonging and transformation.
Danker has participated in exhibitions with Critical Craft Collective, Intersections Gallery, Art Outreach Singapore, DECK, and The Substation. She was nominated for the International Takifuji Art Award (2021) and received the Winston Oh Travelogue Award (2022). Through intimate and layered compositions, Danker’s works invite reflection on memory, inheritance, and the quiet persistence of home.
