True to this spirit, INSTINC is a leading artist-run institution founded by artist Yeo Shih Yun in 2004. It is renowned for producing audacious, immersive exhibitions that challenge convention, showcasing a dynamic range of installation, new media, performance, painting, and sculpture. Since 2009, its esteemed Artist-in-Residence program has been a crucible for creativity, cultivating invaluable international networks and vibrant cross-cultural exchange.

INSTINC’s impact extends through notable collaborations with brands like Volvo and Guinness, and landmark events such as the UOB Bank and National Arts Council-supported INSTINC D:Art Festival 2022. These partnerships demonstrate a deep commitment to fostering cross-disciplinary innovation.

In 2024, INSTINC began a new chapter with its relocation to the Tanjong Pagar Distripark arts hub. Joining the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and other key galleries, this move builds on past successes in the precinct, like the acclaimed 2020 exhibition DE:VOTED.
