Join us for the closing party of the Roots & Resonance Exhibition.

The party will take the casual format of a gathering of some of the featured artists, providing a platform for the artists to gather and share their SG60 stories with members of the public whilst in celebration of Stephen Teo’s inaugural collection exhibition.

This exhibition features works by 4 Singapore artists from the personal collection of local philanthropist Stephen Teo, presented at artcommune gallery and in celebration of our nation’s 60th birthday. Started with the conviction that collecting is a meaningful way to sustain artistic practices, the works selected in this exhibition reflect Mr. Teo’s unwavering commitment to nurturing and supporting the growth of Singapore’s dynamic visual arts landscape. The selection of works centers on themes of architecture, lived environment, and the people who shaped it, offering a nuanced exploration of the ways in which space, community and culture curiously intersect.

A specially commissioned video will be screened at the opening, offering a deeper look into his collecting philosophy, highlighting the distinct career paths of the featured artists and the enduring artist-collector relationships that have shaped his collection journey.
